I am a proud member of the Cowichan Tribes through my mother's lineage and of English/Irish descent on my father's side. I am on the cusp of becoming Dr. Brooks, with my doctoral research dedicated to Indigenous economic development and entrepreneurship. Holding a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in International Business, a Bachelor of Business Administration, and a Professional Economic Development Officer certification, I offer a rare blend of academic rigour and practical expertise. My journey has been enriched by extensive work with diverse cultural groups and a significant period living near Paris, bringing a unique international perspective to her offerings.
At the heart of my work lies a deep-rooted passion for creating meaningful impact. I'm devoted to advancing Indigenous initiatives and supporting the next generation of leaders. My commitment is evident through my active engagement with students and various boards, where my insights and experiences help shape more inclusive and effective strategies.
My desire to facilitate Cultivating Safe Spaces (CSS) training stems from a commitment to fostering environments where everyone feels valued and heard. Whether in person, virtually, or through travels across British Columbia and internationally, I am equipped to adapt and provide support tailored to diverse needs and contexts. There is also an option to have the CSS training co-facilitated to honour the diversity that multiple perspectives bring.
